A Bit About Greg
Greg Power has been involved in adult education for over 15 years has been teaching bushcraft for the past ten years. Greg is a qualified educator and qualified as a Bushcraft Instructor in 2005. Since then he has run his own team building and bespoke courses in the tranquility of the woods, sharing his passion for the outdoors with adults and children alike. Growing up in a small Somerset village, Greg has been fascinated with the British countryside ever since he can remember. Time in the British Army allowed him to see many different countries and this simply confirmed his belief that our country holds the best wild areas in the world with a huge catalogue of flora and fauna to delve into. Greg also creates beautiful hand crafted items using British hard woods including wooden bowls, boards and salad hands. Greg lives with his wife Jess and children in the beautiful Somerset countryside and often spends quality time outside being inspired by nature.
Bushcraft Courses & Workshops
OUR COURSES, EVENTS & WORKSHOPS
We run a range of spoon carving, foraging, fire-lighting and bushcraft a variety of courses, workshops and events based in the woods, primarily in Somerset, however we can bring our courses to you. We have worked with the National Trust running the ever popular ‘Forest Fridays’ at Stourhead in Wiltshire in the school holidays. We have also worked with the Woodland Trust and Somerset Rural Life Museum on a number of courses and a number of schools and restaurants.
Whether you are looking to learn a new skill or for an exciting activity as part of a stag or hen weekend, a specific corporate team building event or an educational workshop for school children and young adults, or you would like to book an individual training session, we have the course for you – please see our course page for further details.
Bespoke Courses & Workshops
BUSHCRAFT DESIGNED WITH YOU IN MIND
We run all of our bushcraft workshops and courses at a gentle pace so that everyone in the group is involved. Whether this is collecting wood, learning safe cutting techniques, fire-lighting, foraging in the hedgerows, preparing and cooking fish or game, building camps or whittling a spoon, all of these make for an enjoyable and memorable experience.
We always have a good ratio of instructors to attendees on our courses, all of whom are First Aid trained and all courses are covered by our public liability insurance. HANDMADE WOODEN BOWLS & GIFTS
We offer a range of woodenware using locally sourced British hard woods. Greg has been carving spoons, ladles and kitchen utensils for years and shares his passion with others on our spoon carving courses which make a great gift day out.
Greg has a passion for wood-turning and makes stunning wooden bowls and platters using his lathe. He also makes handmade chopping boards, serving boards, cheese boards, wedding cake stands and our popular salad hands. Every piece he makes make is handmade and therefore unique, adding to the character of the item.
Most of our items can be personalised to your requirements such as bride and groom names and wedding date or special anniversary, christening, birthday or retirement details. Please see our product range for further details.

We love what we do and where we are in the world in beautiful Somerset. Our courses, events and workshops are full of interesting subject information as well as folklore, local history and medicinal uses for plants on our foraging courses. Greg has a natural ability to inspire and lead our guests through a wonderful and memorable experience that gets people coming back for more.
We use beautiful woodland sites in Somerset so you get to experience mother nature at her best. When you book on our courses you will be sent details confirming the exact location, along with all necessary information needed.
